Writing Restrepo and Fallen Angels
Fallen Angels and Restrepo taught me alot about war in Vietnam or in Afganistan/ Middle east. Both the documentary and the book taught me about the true feelings you can experience before war, during war, and after war that gifts you with these true bonds, with complete strangers . It teaches you to learn how to deal with the loss of a life and the ability to take a life. Feelings that are brought out in both the documentary and in the book consisted of, fear of dieing, fear of loosing a friend, nervousness, and the thought of not seeing your family and friends again. When Doc. Restrepo dies in the documentary, all of the troops mourn for his life and buildoff of his dead a fourt that took time and heart to build. In Fallen Angels Brew dies and all the hooch mates struggle to believe the loss of one of their new friends including Monaco who struggles to continue.
